Couple mediation
I would like to say quite frankly that a personal meeting would always be my first choice, as this allows us to perceive each other "completely," including all facial expressions and gestures. However, online mediation also works surprisingly well, and there can be many reasons why an online meeting is just as suitable or even better. Reasons for online mediation can include, for example, the participants living in different locations.Another advantage of online mediation is its flexibility in terms of time and location. You can participate from home or another familiar place, without any travel time.Sometimes a combination of both formats is a good way to collaborate. I'd be happy to discuss with you which option works best for you.
Confidentiality is a fundamental rule of mediation.Everything discussed in the meetings stays between us – I cannot pass on any information without your consent. The participants also agree at the beginning whether, and if so, with whom, the content of the conversation may be shared. This creates security and trust, allowing people to talk openly and honestly about everything.
In many cases, it can be helpful to record the results of a successful mediation in a so-called mediation agreement. This agreement is developed voluntarily, step by step, through dialogue between the parties, moderated and structured by the mediator. All content is based on what the participants themselves have developed and negotiated. The agreement will be recorded in writing – understandable, clear, and comprehensible to all. If necessary, it can be legally reviewed, amended, and used for notarial purposes.A mediation agreement is legally binding under civil law if all parties involved sign it voluntarily and agree on its contents. This means it is considered a contract within the meaning of the German Civil Code (BGB).If it is also to be legally enforceable (e.g. in the case of payments or complex regulations), it can additionally be notarized or judicially confirmed with legal support. The strength of a mediation agreement lies not only in its legal validity, but above all in the fact that it is jointly developed, understood, and desired. This increases the likelihood that it will be adhered to in the long term.
